Design and Build
The Hodanslightprojector HJ-XKD09 features a distinct elephant-shaped housing, a design choice intended to give it a decorative and friendly appearance suitable for any room. The primary construction material is Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic, finished with paint. This contributes to a lightweight build that is easy to place on a table or shelf, as it is designed for table mounting rather than permanent installation.
The physical dimensions are relatively compact, and the unit includes a remote control powered by a single included C battery. The design prioritizes function, housing dual-projection lenses, an integrated speaker for white noise and Bluetooth audio, and the necessary controls. The manufacturer states the product holds FCC, RoHS, and CE certificates, indicating compliance with specific safety and environmental standards.
Performance and Features
Light Projection Capabilities
The projector’s key feature is its ability to create an immersive light show. It utilizes four base LED colors—blue, green, red, and white—to generate up to 33 distinct lighting effects. These are organized into three modes, with 16 effects specifically dedicated to simulating northern lights. The upgraded dual-projection lens is credited with enlarging the projection area to cover between 300 and 950 square feet, allowing for wall and ceiling coverage in a typical room. The remote control allows for adjustment across five levels of flow speed and five levels of brightness, providing a high degree of customization for the desired ambiance.
Sound and Audio Features
Beyond lighting, the HJ-XKD09 incorporates an 8-track white noise machine designed as a sleep aid. The sound options include summer night, ocean waves, forest birds, twinkle star, rivulet, rain, lullaby, and campfire. The device also functions as a Bluetooth speaker, enabling users to play music from compatible devices. A noted feature is the sound-activated rhythm mode, where the projected lights are designed to sync and dance to the beat of the connected audio, aiming to enhance party atmospheres.
Usability and Control
Control is facilitated primarily through the included infrared remote, which manages light modes, speed, brightness, white noise selection, and music playback. The device also includes timer options, reported by users as one or two hours, for automatic shut-off. Setup involves simply plugging the corded unit into a power outlet. The Bluetooth connection range is not specified by the manufacturer.
Setup, Support and Ownership
Setup for the Hodanslightprojector HJ-XKD09 is described as straightforward, requiring only a power connection and placement. The included remote control is pre-equipped with a battery. The manufacturer provides a one-year warranty and encourages customers to contact them directly for support if any problems arise. No specific details are provided regarding firmware or software updates for the device. As a corded electric appliance, there are no batteries to recharge for the main unit, and no optional accessories are listed by the manufacturer.
What Owners Say
Owner feedback for the Hodanslightprojector HJ-XKD09 is overwhelmingly positive, with a high percentage of top ratings. Users frequently praise the visual impact, noting the beautiful aurora colors and the effective coverage of walls and ceilings, even in moderately lit conditions. The variety of light effects and the ease of customization via the remote are highlighted as major strengths. Many find it creates a relaxing or fun atmosphere perfect for bedrooms or parties.
Common points in reviews include appreciation for the multiple functions in one device. However, some users note that the best visual effects are achieved in dark environments. Feedback on the audio side is mixed; while the white noise function is generally well-received, the built-in speaker’s music quality and the pre-programmed nursery-style music are mentioned as areas that could be improved. The build material is acknowledged by users as being predominantly plastic. The rating distribution shows a strong majority of perfect scores, with a smaller portion of lower ratings addressing these specific limitations.
