Design and Build
The Coolnight WH-E24 features a freestanding, tabletop design with a compact and lightweight body, intended for flexible placement in bedrooms, living rooms, or nurseries. Its enclosure is constructed from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic, finished in a milky white color that is described as having an anti-fingerprint, easy-clean surface. A distinctive design element is its lower half, which incorporates a semi-transparent lampshade designed to shimmer like a glacier. This section functions as an independent night light, providing a warm, diffused glow separate from the main projection functions.
The build emphasizes stability and safety for daily use. It includes a stable base with a non-slip pad to prevent movement. Internally, it incorporates a shock-resistant structure and a heat-dissipation design. The manufacturer notes the use of non-toxic materials and a child-safe low-voltage design with circuit protection and over-power auto shutoff features. The optical lens for projection is scratch-resistant, housed within a dust-resistant lens housing. The overall aesthetic aims for a modern, Nordic style that can blend with various room decors, from a teen’s bedroom to a living room or a sensory-friendly space.
Performance and Features
Visual Projection and Lighting
The core visual feature of the WH-E24 is its upgraded 7-in-1 projection system. It can project several patterns simultaneously or individually: dynamic, flowing northern lights (aurora), twinkling stars, and detailed images from five included film slides (2 planet and 3 moon patterns). The projection angle is adjustable, and the optimal projection distance is listed as 2 to 8 feet, capable of covering an area between 108 and 538 square feet. The aurora lights offer 16 color options, which can be combined with 5 levels of brightness and 4 rotation speeds, resulting in over 360 potential lighting combinations. The light movement is described as steady and slow, utilizing a low blue light, non-glare illumination designed to be gentle on the eyes. The motor driving the effects operates below 25dB, which the manufacturer categorizes as ultra-quiet.
Audio Performance and Sound Library
On the audio side, the device functions as a dual-purpose sound machine and speaker. It houses a built-in 10W speaker with 3D speaker type. As a sound machine, it includes 30 built-in, loop-free tracks of soothing sounds. The list encompasses natural noises like ocean waves, various rain types, thunderstorms, breeze, and campfire crackle, as well as ambient tones like white noise, pink noise, brown noise, fan sounds, and melodic options such as piano lullaby and harp melody. This library is intended to mask environmental noise and aid sleep or focus. Separately, the device features Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, allowing it to pair with smartphones or other devices to stream music wirelessly. A music sync lighting feature is mentioned, where the lighting effects can react to the audio being played.
Control and Customization
Control is a significant aspect of the WH-E24’s feature set. It comes with a full-function remote control that allows users to adjust all settings from across the room, including power, lighting modes, colors, brightness, rotation speed, sound selection, volume, and timer settings. The device also includes a memory function that saves your last used settings. For convenience and energy saving, a smart auto-off timer offers three duration options: 1 hour, 2 hours, and 4 hours, with an additional 12-hour auto shutoff safety feature. The controls allow for separate adjustment of light and audio functions, providing flexibility to use the projector silently or with the night light and sounds independently.
Setup, Support and Ownership
Setup is described as plug-and-play with no complicated installation required. The device is powered via a USB-C input port, which also makes it compatible for use with a power bank, adding to its portability for travel or camping. It is a freestanding unit, so no mounting is necessary. The manufacturer provides a 36-month quality guarantee and mentions 24/7 customer support. The product has undergone what is described as rigorous testing and holds FCC, CE, and RoHS certifications, which are standard safety and environmental compliance marks. The internal components are designed for long-term reliability, including a long-life light source and stable performance for daily use. Specific details about firmware updates or accessory options, such as additional film slides, are not listed in the provided data.
What Owners Say
At the time of this analysis, there are no available buyer review excerpts for the Coolnight WH-E24. The product holds a manufacturer-reported rating, but user-generated feedback detailing hands-on experience with long-term reliability, real-world projection quality in different room conditions, sound speaker clarity, or the practicality of the remote control is not present. This absence means potential buyers must rely solely on the manufacturer’s specifications and claims when evaluating performance aspects like the effectiveness of the 30 sounds for sleep, the true coverage area of the projections, or the Bluetooth connection stability.

Who Should Buy It (and Who Should Skip It)
The Coolnight WH-E24 is an ideal fit for individuals or families seeking a versatile ambient device. It’s well-suited for parents wanting an all-in-one sleep aid for a nursery or child’s room, combining a night light, star projector, and white noise machine. Teens and adults looking for unique, customizable bedroom decor to create a relaxing or party atmosphere will find its projection and color options appealing. It also holds potential as a sensory tool for those with autism or anxiety, as the gentle, predictable visual patterns and soothing sounds are designed to aid in calm and focus. It’s a candidate for use in spaces like therapy rooms, yoga studios, or as a calming backdrop for reading and meditation. For more insights on creating optimal ambient spaces, explore our Tech Gear section.
This product may not be the best choice for users seeking a simple, single-function night light or a high-fidelity speaker system for critical music listening. Those who prefer a device with a proven track record supported by extensive user reviews might want to wait for feedback to emerge. Individuals needing very bright room illumination or those who intend to use it primarily in well-lit daytime conditions may not achieve the desired projection effects. If your primary need is a powerful Bluetooth speaker, dedicated models reviewed in categories like Soundbars might offer better audio performance.
Final Verdict
The Coolnight WH-E24 presents a compelling package on paper, aiming to consolidate several popular ambient and sensory tools into one device. Its strength lies in its extensive customization options—from the myriad of light combinations to the broad sound library—and the convenience of remote control and timers. The inclusion of safety certifications, a long warranty, and thoughtful design elements like the independent night light and USB-C power suggest a product built for daily, reliable use. For anyone looking to invest in a multifunctional hub to enhance their home’s ambiance for sleep, relaxation, or entertainment, the WH-E24’s specification sheet offers a lot of potential value.
However, the most significant caveat is the complete lack of user-generated reviews. While the manufacturer’s features and claims are detailed, they remain unverified by independent consumer experience. Factors like the actual clarity and beauty of the projections, the sound quality of both the built-in tracks and the Bluetooth speaker, and the long-term durability of the mechanical parts are unknowns. Therefore, the WH-E24 is a promising but unproven contender. Prospective buyers attracted to its feature set should consider it a speculative purchase based on specifications alone, potentially balanced by the security of the lengthy warranty. FAQs
Can the Coolnight WH-E24 be used without the projection lights on?
Yes. The device offers separate control for its light and audio functions. You can use the independent glacier night light in the lower lampshade without activating the ceiling projections. Similarly, you can play the built-in sounds or stream Bluetooth audio with all lighting turned off, or combine any of the features together as desired.
What power source does it require?
The Coolnight WH-E24 is powered via a USB-C input port. This means it can be plugged into a standard USB wall adapter, a computer USB port, or, notably, a compatible power bank. The power bank compatibility makes it portable for use in places without direct power outlets, such as during camping or in a tent.
Is it suitable for all-night use?
The device includes a smart auto-off timer with settings for 1, 2, or 4 hours, encouraging energy-efficient use and preventing it from running all night unintentionally. However, it also has a separate 12-hour auto shutoff safety feature. For continuous all-night use, you would need to manually restart it or forgo the timer, though the manufacturer promotes its use for helping individuals fall asleep.
How does it function as a sensory product?
The manufacturer states the WH-E24 is designed for sensory needs, particularly for autistic children. The gentle, predictable, and slow-moving visual patterns (northern lights, stars) can provide a calming focal point to aid in emotional regulation and focus. The library of steady, soothing sounds can help mask distracting noises and create a predictable auditory environment, which are common strategies in sensory-friendly spaces.
